Stift Zwettl

Die ein­zig­ar­ti­ge Zwett­ler Klos­ter­land­schaft, die 2024 mit dem Eu­ro­päi­schen Kul­tur­er­be-Sie­gel aus­ge­zeich­net wur­de, lädt dazu ein, ent­deckt zu wer­den! Im Zuge des In­ter­reg-Pro­jekts „Cis­ter­s­capes VB-Zw-ZnS“ wer­den ge­führ­te Wan­de­run­gen an­ge­bo­ten, die die jahr­hun­der­te­al­te Kul­tur­land­schaft rund um das Stift Zwettl er­leb­bar machen.

Auf den ge­mein­sa­men Wan­de­run­gen un­ter der Lei­tung von Bri­git­te Fröh­lich, Eli­sa­beth Moll und Hans Graf er­fah­ren die Teil­neh­men­den, wie der Zis­ter­zi­en­ser­or­den die Land­schaft ge­prägt hat und wel­che Spu­ren klös­ter­li­chen Wir­kens bis heu­te sicht­bar sind. Na­tur und Ge­schich­te ver­bin­den sich zu ei­nem be­son­de­ren Er­leb­nis, das neue Per­spek­ti­ven auf die Re­gi­on eröffnet.

Die ge­führ­ten Wan­de­run­gen rich­ten sich an alle In­ter­es­sier­ten – von Kul­tur- und Ge­schichts­be­geis­ter­ten bis hin zu Na­tur­lieb­ha­be­rIn­nen – und bie­ten span­nen­de Ein­bli­cke in das eu­ro­päi­sche Erbe der Zisterzienser.

Gui­ded hi­king tours th­rough the mo­nastic land­scape Zwettl

The uni­que mo­nastic land­scape Zwettl, which was award­ed the Eu­ro­pean He­ri­ta­ge La­bel in 2024, in­vi­tes you to come and ex­plo­re it! As part of the In­ter­reg pro­ject ‘Cis­ter­s­capes VB-Zw-ZnS’, gui­ded hi­king tours are of­fe­red that bring the cen­tu­ries-old cul­tu­ral land­scape around Zwettl Ab­bey to life.

On the joint hi­king tours, par­ti­ci­pan­ts learn how the Cis­ter­ci­an Or­der shaped the land­scape and what traces of mo­nastic ac­ti­vi­ty are still vi­si­ble to­day. Na­tu­re and histo­ry com­bi­ne to crea­te a spe­cial ex­pe­ri­ence that opens up new per­spec­ti­ves on the region.

The gui­ded hi­king tours are ai­med at an­yo­ne in­te­res­ted – from cul­tu­re and histo­ry en­thu­si­asts to na­tu­re lo­vers – and of­fer ex­ci­ting in­sights into the Eu­ro­pean he­ri­ta­ge of the Cistercians.
